Edelman Hub

The private home base for the Edelman team: training, company tools, forms and answers in one place.

What Edelman Hub is

Edelman Hub (www.edelmanhub.com) is a private website run by Edelman, LLC (doing business as Edelman Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, Electric and Solar), a home services company in central Illinois and southern Wisconsin. It is built for Edelman employees, who sign in with their Edelman Microsoft 365 work accounts. It is not open to the public.

What it does

  • Training. Short training videos and courses, study notes and quizzes. Employees earn points for passing training and can track their progress.
  • Edelman Chat. An assistant that answers work questions from Edelman’s own documents.
  • Library and Company Forms. Company documents and every company form in one place.
  • Home tools. Links to the tools each team uses every day.
  • Website Management. Where managers add training, home page news and forms.

How Edelman Hub uses YouTube

Edelman Hub uses YouTube API Services, only with Edelman’s own YouTube channel:

  • Playing training videos. Training videos play in YouTube’s embedded player on the Training page.
  • Preparing training. When a manager adds a video from Edelman’s channel, the Hub reads that video’s title and captions. The captions become a transcript the manager reviews, and the Hub uses it to suggest a short description, study notes and quiz questions. The manager checks and edits everything before employees see it.
  • Uploading training videos. A manager can upload a training video to Edelman’s channel from the Hub. The manager sets the title, description and visibility (public, unlisted or private) before anything is sent to YouTube.

An Edelman administrator connects the channel once with Google sign-in. Employees never sign in with Google, and the Hub never sees anyone’s Google password. Using these features means agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

How we access, use, store, share and delete YouTube data: Edelman Hub Privacy Policy.
